The Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts presents "Rome: 1970's" by Stephen Brigidi. Opening Reception: May 17, 2018, 5-9pm. Exhibit: May 17-June 15. Free and open to the public.
"ROME 1970’s” is a solo exhibition by Stephen Brigidi and will preview a selection of Silver Gelatin prints from his upcoming book of the same title. A Rhode Island resident, Brigidi has works in the Whitney Museum of American Art, Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, the American Academy in Rome, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
A second show, running concurrently, is “Cuba: Beyond the Romance” by David DeMelim. The show features a selection of work from DeMelim's travels in Cuba and presents impressions of island life in a country with a future perpetually on hold. All proceeds from sales of work in "Cuba: Beyond the Romance" will go to supporting the RI PhotoCenter.
The RI PhotoCenter is open Thursdays and Fridays 1-4pm, and Saturdays 1-6pm; later on Gallery Night.
