Sarah Lohman, author of Eight Flavors: The Untold Story of American Cuisine, talks about how food and spices introduced to the United States by immigrants changed how Americans eat. Sample a few long-forgotten recipes with a glass of wine. The evening includes a preview of Lippitt House Museum’s 2017 special exhibit “The Art of Dining: A Taste of Providence’s Golden Age.” The program is presented in partnership with the Providence Public Library.
